Today the patients of Restauracion will go to the FIMRC office to get their blood pressure and blood sugar tested, talk to Dr. Leslie, and get their prescribed medication. I was in charge of blood sugar and blood pressure in Restauracion. We then traveled by car to two surrounding villages that were less developed. In these villages I was in charge of rationing out medicine. It was very interesting to see these different villages and how healthcare works. Day ends at 6:00. 5/19/17: Begin at 8:00. I observed at the clinic with other volunteers. We then all went to lunch and then when we got back to the office I had to throw away expired medicine but kept the containers because they reuse them. They then gave me a lesson about Cholera in Haiti and about Social health factors and health overall. We talked about what some things are that make it harder for the people there to get access to the right healthcare. Done at 5:30. 5/20/17: 3.5 hour drive back to the airport, then I flew from New York to Dulles. Traveled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
